President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-Bak has arrived in Uzbekistan August 23 with state visit on the invitation of President Islam Karimov.

Notwithstanding the great distance between Uzbekistan and the Land of Morning Freshness, the two peoples have been tied with long-standing friendship bonds. Both peoples are distinct with qualities like patriotism, kindness, magnanimity, respect for the elderly, care for the younger, diligence, keenness to honor the ancestors’ heritage and values.

Official ceremony of meeting South Korea’s President took place at Uzbek President’s Kuksaroy country complex. Guard of honor lined up in mark of respect for the high-ranking guest. The two leaders rose to the podium, followed by the sounds of state hymns of the two nations. Presidents reviewed the guard of honor.

Islam Karimov stressed that Uzbekistan, familiar with Haruhiko Kuroda’s widely acknowledged professional experience and outstanding abilities, has firmly supported his candidacy during elections to the responsible post.
