Uzbek and Chinese Presidents open Angren-Pap railway line

A ceremony, devoted to completion of a large prospective project of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation, the official opening of the electrified Angren-Pap railway line and the Qamchiq tunnel, took place at the UzExpoCentre on 22 June. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping took part at the event.

The head of our state underlined that implementation of this largest project is a big achievement for Uzbekistan, a significant and unforgettable historical event.

Uzbekistan-China: new stage of cooperation – comprehensive strategic partnership

As reported earlier, on 21 June President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping arrived in Uzbekistan with a state visit at the invitation of President Karimov.

An official welcoming ceremony of the Chinese President took place at the Kuksaroy residence on 22 June. The guard of honor was lined up for the high-ranking guest. Islam Karimov and Xi Jinping rose to the podium. The National anthems of Uzbekistan and China played. The two leaders walked along the guard.

During the meeting in narrow format Islam Karimov and Xi Jinping exchanged views on wide specter of issues, concerning the current state and prospects of further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China, regional and international topics of mutual interest.

President of the People’s Republic of China arrived in Uzbekistan

President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping arrived in Uzbekistan on 21 June with a state visit at the invitation of President Islam Karimov.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov welcomed the high-level guest at the Tashkent International Airport, adorned with the national flags of two countries.

Islam Karimov receives head of US Central Command

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received General Joseph Votel, the Commander of the US Central Command, at the Oqsaroy on 14 June.

Greeting the guest, who has arrived in our country for the first time in his new position, the President congratulated him with the high and responsible appointment and wished successes in his work.

President Karimov received Russian foreign minister

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received Minister of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov at the Oqsaroy on 24 May.

The state and prospects of the multifaceted Uzbek-Russian interaction, topical issues of international politics were discussed at the meeting.

Uzbekistan’s President receives Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received Minister of foreign affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi, who is on an official visit to our country, at the Oqsaroy on 23 May.

The head of our state, warmly greeting the guest, underlined that sustainable and trustworthy relations, developed between our countries practically in all areas of cooperation, are highly appraised in Uzbekistan.

Meeting at the Oqsaroy

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Hwang Kyo-ahn at the Oqsaroy on 20 May.

The head of our state noted that this visit is a logical extension of the rigorous and prolific dialogue at the highest level and will aid further expansion of bilateral trade, economic, investment, technological, financial, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Islam Karimov receives Bulgarian PM Boyko Borissov

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov at the Oqsaroy on 18 May.

Warmly greeting the guest, the head of our state underlined that the first visit of the head of the government of Bulgaria to the Republic of Uzbekistan is a significant event in the development of bilateral relations and a good opportunity to elevate mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries to a new level.

Bulgaria is considered in Uzbekistan as a traditional and trusted economic partner and the Uzbek and Bulgarian peoples have had amicable relations for ages.

President Islam Karimov receives Germany’s foreign minister

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe at the Oqsaroy on 30 March.

Warmly greeting the guest, the head of our state underlined that this meeting affords a good opportunity to share views on the issues of bilateral cooperation and is a constituent part of the multifaceted and regular Uzbek-German dialogue.
