  <img border="0" alt="" align="left" src="http://www.press-service.uz/img/news/1310/31082010_s.gif" />Celebrations of the 19th anniversary of independence of Uzbekistan were held on 31 August at Alisher Navoi National Park in Tashkent.</p>
<p align="justify">This year’s celebrations were held under the slogan: “The highest value of our sacred Motherland are people, their rights and interests”. There reforms carried out in the country in all areas are aimed primarily at ensuring the people’s interests.</p>
<p align="justify">Members of the Government, Senate, Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan workers of science, culture, art, businessmen, representatives of foreign embassies and international organizations took part in the holiday celebrations.</p>

<p align="justify">Bukhara, which has a history of more than 25 centuries, is one of the ancient and at the same time eternally young cities, that has made a great contribution to the development of the world civilization.</p>
<p align="justify">The city has been known for centuries as a cradle of science, enlightenment and culture. During the years of the country’s independence, Bukhara has also seen significant transformations.</p>

      <title><![CDATA[Strengthening the Sense of Aspiration for Great Future]]></title>

  <img border="0" alt="" align="left" src="http://www.press-service.uz/img/news/1305/29082010_s.gif" />President Islam Karimov visited educational establishments commissioned in Tashkent on the eve of the 19th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.</p>
<p align="justify">The head of state visited the capitally reconstructed building of the Viktor Uspenskiy Republican Specialized Musical Academic Lyceum. The new edifice has been erected on the premises of the former Republican Musical College. The work was carried out in the purpose of fostering a comprehensively advanced generation, to perfect elementary specialized musical education and, basing on that, to raise the quality of training highly qualified professionals in music art and culture. </p>
<p align="justify">The lyceum has got four educational blocks designed for 900 students, as well as a hostel for 200 persons and three canteens with 210 seats. All study rooms are provided with musical instruments and modern equipment of 64 types.
